What We Store in Your Browser
Most cookie notices are long because the sites behind them load a crowd of trackers. This one is short, because Honey Creeper stores almost nothing. Here is the full list, what each item does and how to remove it.
The full list
| What | Where | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your answer to the banner | Your browser's local storage | So the banner does not reappear on every page | Until you clear it |
That is all. We do not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or cookies from social networks, and the site does not load scripts that would set them on our behalf.
Local storage, not a cookie
Strictly speaking, the one item we keep is not a cookie at all. It sits in your browser's local storage, a small space that each website can use on your own device. The important difference is that local storage is not sent along with each request to a server. Your banner answer stays on your computer or phone, and we never see it.
Whichever button you press
The site works in exactly the same way whether you accept or decline. Choosing either button only records that you have answered, so that you are not asked again. Declining does not hide any articles or switch off any features, because there are no optional trackers to turn on.
Clearing it
- Open your browser's settings and look for privacy or site data.
- Find the stored data for honeycreeper.net, or clear data for all sites.
- Reload any page here, and the banner will ask its question again.
Private or incognito windows usually discard local storage when they close, so in those windows the banner may appear on every visit. That is expected and does not mean anything has gone wrong.
If this changes
Should we ever add something that stores information in your browser, it will be listed in the table above before it goes live, and the banner will tell you about it. How we handle the little data that does reach us, such as emails, is described in Your Privacy. The general rules for using the site are in our usage terms.
