An Intro to Online Poker
Online poker is a quick and easy way to play the game we all love to play with our friends around the table at our weekly card game. But, unlike your weekly card game, you can play whenever you want and wherever there is a computer near you. Not to mention you can play with some interesting people from around the world. Even more, you can choose the pace of play, what type of game you play and if you want, you can play multiple games at once. Also, you choose the environment you want to play in. You can play while sitting around in your pjs in your bed if you want. No more having to sit in a smoky garage. No more having to deal with a drunk player spilling a beer all over the cards. And no more having to deal with long waits or driving to the local casino. Online poker is there for you whenever you want to play.
Cash Games
Cash games are the most popular game on online poker and the one you will be most used to. Just like your cash game at home they are for anywhere from two to nine people. However, unlike your cash game at home there is typically dozens if not hundreds of tables to choose from. You can go head to head against another player if you want. Also, there is six-max tables which, as the name would suggest, allows for a maximum of six people or there are full ring tables, which typically sit nine people. The amount you can buy in for varies from just pennies to hundreds of dollars. Different stakes will allow for different buy in amounts. You typically have to buy in for at least 20 big blinds and the max is usually 100 big blinds, but this can sometimes vary. You can always rebuy if you lose out on an unlucky hand. You can also leave whenever you want so you don’t have to have to face ridicule from your friends if you hit a big hand and want to leave.
Sit and Gos
Sit and gos might be a new format to many. In short, sit and gos are offered on most poker qiu sites and are like a tournament that is played on just one table. There is a set buy-in and the prizes will be paid out to the top finishers in the sit and go. To keep the action moving the blinds will raise up every few minutes, so that way you really have to choose a good hand and put your chips in. Typically the top two or top three places are paid depending on the amount of people at the start of it.
Tournaments
Tournaments are just like sit and gos, but instead there is upwards of hundreds of people all playing on different tables. Just like the sit and gos, the blinds will incrementally raise to keep the action moving. The great thing about tournaments is that you can score a huge payout. With hundreds of people in, the payout for first place can reach thousands of dollars. So what are you waiting for? Get in on the action of online poker.
